Who we are
The Waterfowl Political Action Committee (PAC) was formed in 2016 by the California Waterfowl Legislative Action Fund to facilitate greater access and influence for waterfowl interests and sportsmen at the California State Capitol and in Washington D.C.
Animal rights and anti-gun organizations continue to expand their political influence in the Golden State, sponsoring anti-sportsmen legislation and spending increasing funds on lobbying and related activities. In addition, competing demands for water threaten wetlands and wildlife-friendly agriculture in the Klamath Basin and Central Valley, while waterfowl and other wildlife habitat is being lost to urban growth, land conversion, escalating management costs and other factors.
The Waterfowl PAC prepares the outdoor community for an ever-worsening political climate in California as it relates to hunting, wildlife management, firearms ownership, water supply and land use issues.
As California continues to become more urban, a greater number of State and Federal elected officials do not understand the important role that hunters play in wildlife conservation.
The Waterfowl PAC is governed by a Board of dedicated volunteers, all of whom hunt waterfowl and other game species while sharing a deep concern for the future of our outdoor heritage. Many have also served on the boards of conservation-related organizations and/or devoted countless hours of their own personal time to protecting and promoting hunting.
